Small Wonders (for Families) 1.1

Critical pre-literacy skills are developed early on, long before elementary school, through play and interactive conversations with caregivers at home. The free early-literacy apps created by the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) are intended for parents and caregivers to engage with their children, fostering enjoyable and valuable interactions to support dialogue - thus providing children with the necessary foundations for reading, learning, and growth.

Welcome to Small Wonders! By engaging in conversations with your young one - and encouraging them to converse with you - you can prepare them for reading and broadening their knowledge of the world. This application is specifically tailored for you and your child to use together, discussing and enjoying everyday objects and interactions during playtime. Its assortment of games, songs, and activity suggestions can serve as the catalyst for numerous engaging exchanges, which are highly beneficial for preparing children for reading. Moreover, the app offers guidance on enhancing your child's language skills outside of app usage - during routine activities such as shopping, running errands, or visiting the playground. Small Wonders will provide you with abundant conversation topics throughout the day!
